DRESS
Due to the climate, it is advisable to bring at least one sweater and pair of long pants, even in summer. During winter months it would be smart be smart to dress as the locals do, with layers of warm clothing, and heavy socks or slippers are a must on cold Mexican tiles. On the subject of footwear, sturdy walking shoes are highly recommended for exploring the cobblestoned streets of San Miguel.

Due to the number of upscale restaurants and cultural offerings available in San Miguel, evening dress could be referred to as sophisticated casual; jacket and tie are not required but, unlike in many beach resorts, they will not look out of place.
