CULTURAL SCHEDULE APRIL - JUNE

While all Mexicans love a party, it seems that no town enjoys a celebration or fiesta more than San Miguel de Allende. Local citizens take to the streets with verve and enthusiasm for traditional holidays, to honor local heroes and patron saints or sometimes, it seems, just for the fun of it. When you add to this the frequent artistic and cultural events that take place in San Miguel you have a very full calendar indeed. Here is a small sampling of some of the more well-known holidays and events.

(M denotes a moveable or variable holiday. To find precise information contact the Municipal Tourist Office or purchase a copy of Atención San Miguel, a local bilingual newspaper that publishes a calendar of events for the upcoming week. It is available each Friday from the Public Library and throughout the town.)
